'Come on darling, it's time to go.'
'But I'm having a tea party with the trolls.'
'Er... that's lovely dear, but we really do need to go. Get your coat on please.'
'Would you like sugar in your tea, Mr Troll?'
'Darling, did you hear a word I just said? Coat on. We need to go now!'
Silence.
'Look at daddy please. Look at daddy. Get your coat on please.'
'I don't want to.'
'It's cold and wet outside. Get your coat on.'
'I don't want to.'
Sigh.
'Fine. I'll put your coat and bag in the car...'
'Right, in the car please.'
She reluctantly steps out the front door and onto the path.
'It's cold!'
'I know it's cold, darling. Quickly, get in the car.'
'I'm cold!' she cries, standing in the misty rain.
'Get in the car then or step back inside.'
'I want my coat!'
'Your coat's in the car, darling. Quick, run and get in.'
'I'm cold and I want my coat,' she starts to wail, still rooted to the cold and soggy spot.
Sigh.
Three year old logic.
'Right...'
