Stan

10/29/2016

I was shocked recently to discover that a great man has passed away. Stan was a man of unwavering positivity, quick to encourage and always ready to offer support when needed. He was a man who blessed me greatly in a time of deep turmoil and uncertainty. He listened attentively and responded wisely, prayed passionately and worshipped wholeheartedly. He was a man with a huge, shining servant heart who knew and loved Jesus and who wanted others to know and love him too.

Stan was a man who lived the Father Heart of God in all its fullness. He lived it as a wayward son who knew what it was to be welcomed back into his Father’s ever open arms and he lived it as a caring father who gave unstintingly to his own children and to all the prodigals under his care.

The world is a poorer place without his soothing presence and infectious smile even as heaven rejoices over a treasured son welcomed home.

“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Enjoy the party Stan and I’ll look forward to joining you at the table when my time comes.
