A New Start

We live in a world very much affected by seasons. Here in the UK winter is slowly giving way to an emergent spring: the days are getting longer; the sun is peaking out from behind gloomy clouds a little more often; and the temperature is creeping up. The same is true in our personal lives.

A few years back I decided to dip my toes into the vast and somewhat overwhelming lake of blogging. It was fun, rewarding and a little bit of a struggle. I wasn’t as dedicated to the endeavour as many would be but I did mange to get some things written down and ushered out into the blogoverse. And then, for various reasons, it ended. A few years further down the line I decided to revisit the journey I’d once started. I paid for a new domain and signed up with a hosting company and then, well, then I didn’t really do anything for a couple of years. Now though, it’s really time to start again, to wrestle with the beast of creative thought, to prod and poke and take a fresh spanner to my aging ruminatory cortex, and to jolly well pull my finger out and put in the hard yards to write, write, write and write some more until something worth posting emerges. This may or not be it, but at least it’s a start.

Every journey has to start at a launching off point; a place or a time when we gird our loins and determine to head off down the winding road to wherever the going takes us. We may have a fixed idea about where we are heading, we may have absolutely no clue, but, unless we take the first and second and third step, we ain’t going nowhere. So, here we go. It’s taken a while but it’s time to step on the road again and see where the journey takes us…
